Pentatonic Brass is an innovative, modern quintet based in Cardiff, South Wales. They formed in September 2006, and have been with their current membership since October 2007.
Based at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, they take coaching from Kevin Price and Christopher Mowat, and have performed in masterclasses with Onyx Brass, Fine Arts Brass and Boston Brass. They have also performed for formal and informal functions in Cardiff.
Pentatonic Brass are passionate about bringing their music to schools and youth groups, and have taken part in education workshops in and around Cardiff, Caerphilly, Gwent and Carmarthenshire. These education workshops teach primary-aged pupils the basics of learning a brass instrument, whilst also entertaining and engaging the children.
"It was slick, informative, educational and most importantly displayed a great balance of humour. You certainly encapsulated the audience"
- Georgina Davies, Carmarthenshire Music Service Coordinator
